Chimera’s Fruit Farm<\/h3>\n

Chimera Farm was born in the 1980s, when Mr. Chimera arrived in Sciacca and began tending the citrus grove belonging to his wife’s family. By 1987, the farm had taken its first quiet steps toward becoming a real business. Then came 1989 \u2014 a pivotal year. Through his work, Mr. Chimera was introduced to the land around Ribera, a region with a long history of citrus growing, today known as the “city of oranges” and celebrated for producing fruit of exceptional quality.<\/p>\n

That encounter only deepened the desire to grow something truly extraordinary. Over time, the grove expanded and the growing techniques were refined, all in pursuit of a product of the very highest quality. Today, our estate spans 13 hectares of fertile land, well known for its exceptional yields. It sits just a few steps outside of Sciacca, close to the sea, across the areas of Bertolino and Maragani<\/em> \u2014crossed by small streams that make the soil even more fertile.<\/p>\n

Bees<\/h5><\/span>The Chimera family are friends of the bees \u2014 who produce an exquisite honey from the orange blossoms (zagare). The presence of bees in the grove is itself a sign of uncontaminated, purely organic farming: the lack of insecticides or pesticides, helps the bees to stick around.. Our land offers a habitat where they are truly at home.<\/div>

NATURAL TREATMENTS<\/h5><\/span>Every treatment we use is entirely natural: specific biological methods, bacterial bait, and the planting of broad beans (favino) as a natural fertiliser. And every Sunday, the Chimera fields welcome a small flock of sheep, who graze on the fresh grass, enriching the soil and nurturing the land’s natural micro-environment.<\/div>
