Thanks to its special form, oranges can get air.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Washington Navel variety \u2014 also known simply as Navel \u2014 is recognised by its characteristic &#8220;navel&#8221; at the base of the fruit. The skin displays a deep flame-orange to coral tone. Inside, the segments separate effortlessly. The flesh is full-bodied and inviting in colour \u2014 seedless, gentle on the palate, with no bitterness.<br \/>\nThe peel is notably thin, unlike conventional fertiliser-grown oranges, which develop a much thicker skin (called scurzusa in Sicilian dialect).
