Terms and conditions of the citrus grove tour

Arance Chimera Bio – Sciacca, Sicily. Last updated: 28 October 2026.

1. The citrus grove tour

Arance Chimera Bio offers visitors an immersive experience on its organic farm, discovering Sicilian citrus, biodiversity, organic growing techniques and the history of the Chimera family.

The experience consists of a tour of the citrus grove lasting about one hour, with a tasting of the farm’s products included in the price of the booking.

The route, the activities and the products offered may vary depending on the season, the weather and the farm’s operational needs.

2. Booking and confirmation

The tour is available on request only and subject to confirmation by Arance Chimera Bio.

Customers can send a request through the website or the farm’s contact details, stating the preferred date, the number of participants and any special needs.

Sending a request does not in itself confirm the booking. The tour is booked only after the farm’s explicit confirmation and once the payment conditions communicated to the customer have been met.

The farm reserves the right to check the availability of the date, the capacity of the route and the compatibility of the tour with ongoing farm work.

3. Price, deposit and balance

The price of the tour, including the tasting, is communicated to the customer before the booking is confirmed.

A deposit, in the amount and by the means communicated by the farm, is required to confirm the booking. For tours held in English, the balance must be paid at the farm, before or at the start of the tour, as instructed.

The amount of the deposit, the total price, the payment methods and any refund conditions are communicated before the booking is completed.

The farm issues the tax documents required by the laws in force.

4. Changes and cancellations by the customer

If unable to attend, customers are asked to contact Arance Chimera Bio promptly with their request to cancel or change the booking.

Where possible and subject to availability, the farm will offer a new date for the tour.

Rescheduling requests are handled individually, taking into account the farm’s calendar, the season and remaining availability.

How the deposit is treated in case of cancellation will be communicated to the customer before booking and applied in accordance with the laws in force. Nothing in these conditions limits consumers’ mandatory rights, including any right of withdrawal where applicable.

5. Cancellation or changes by the farm

Arance Chimera Bio may change, postpone or cancel the tour in case of bad weather, safety issues, unforeseen farm needs or other circumstances that prevent the experience from taking place as planned.

In such cases, the farm will inform the customer as soon as possible and offer an alternative date. If rescheduling is not possible or the customer does not accept the alternative, any refunds due under the applicable law will be granted.

6. Seasons and natural conditions

The citrus grove is a living farm environment, subject to the natural cycles of the plants, the weather and seasonal work.

Blossoms, ripe fruit, specific citrus varieties or particular farm work cannot be guaranteed at every time of year.

The route or the content of the tour may change for agronomic, weather or organizational reasons, without this necessarily amounting to a substantial change to the experience purchased.

7. Picking citrus

Picking citrus yourself is not automatically included in the tour.

It may be allowed only when agronomic conditions permit and with the authorization of the farm staff.

Visitors may not pick, pull off or eat fruit without authorization. Any terms, quantities, prices or conditions for buying the picked produce will be communicated before the activity.

8. Tasting of the farm’s products

The tasting is included in the price of the tour and consists of a selection of the farm’s products, which may vary depending on availability and season.

The selection may include fresh citrus, marmalades, jams, preserves, extra virgin olive oil and other products of the farm, as provided by the experience offered.

Ingredients and allergens will be stated or made available in accordance with the applicable rules.

Customers are asked to report any allergies, intolerances or special dietary needs before the tour. The farm will provide the information available on the products and consider alternatives, without guaranteeing the absence of accidental cross-contamination where this cannot be ensured.

The tasting is a food experience and does not constitute nutritional or medical advice.

9. Dogs and pets

Dogs are allowed only on request and with the farm’s confirmation.

If allowed, the dog must be kept on a leash and under the owner’s constant control. The owner is responsible for the animal’s behavior and for any damage it causes, in accordance with the laws in force.

Access may be restricted in certain areas for reasons of safety, hygiene or protection of the farm work and the tasting.

Any exceptions provided by law, including those for assistance dogs, remain unaffected.

10. Minors and responsibility of accompanying adults

Minors may take part in the tour under the supervision of a parent or responsible adult.

Accompanying adults must watch over minors for the whole experience, paying particular attention to trees, farm equipment, uneven ground and the other features of a rural environment.

Any accessibility or assistance needs should be communicated in advance, so that the farm can provide suitable information about the route.

11. Conduct and safety rules

To ensure a pleasant and safe tour, all participants must:

  • follow the instructions of the farm staff;
  • stay on the paths and in the authorized areas;
  • not damage trees, fruit, systems, equipment or buildings;
  • not pick produce without authorization;
  • not leave litter and respect the farm environment;
  • take care on uneven ground and around roots, stones, insects or other natural elements.

Comfortable closed shoes and clothing suitable for the season are recommended.

The farm is not liable for damage resulting from careless behavior or from visitors breaching the safety instructions, without prejudice to the cases of liability provided by law.

12. Photos and video

Visitors may take photos and videos for personal use, respecting the farm’s property and the privacy of other participants.

Any use by Arance Chimera Bio, for promotional or commercial purposes, of images or footage in which visitors can be identified will comply with the applicable rules on personal data protection and image rights.

13. Personal data

The data provided when booking will be processed to handle requests, organize the tour, communicate with participants and fulfil the applicable administrative and tax obligations.

Full information on the data controller, the purposes, the legal bases, the retention periods and the rights of data subjects is given in the Privacy policy available on the website.

14. Right of withdrawal and applicable law

Bookings are governed by the applicable Italian and European law, including the Italian Consumer Code where relevant.

Any right of withdrawal for bookings made at a distance will be assessed based on the nature of the service and the date or period set for it. In particular, the exception for certain leisure services with a specific date or period applies only when its legal conditions are actually met.

These conditions do not exclude or limit consumers’ mandatory rights.
